SHARP MINDS have organized and implemented another one Training Course by the title “Dropping Out School for Work? Out of the Question!” (20-27 October, 2018). This educative project, which has been implemented inside the frame of the Erasmus+ programme, had as a topic the early School Dropout of the youngsters and their premature incorporation in the working area, as a wider impact of the long economy crisis inside European Union.
The participants were 29 professionals of education sector, Youth Workers and Trainers from Greece, Slovakia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and Cyprus. The participants had the chance to present the situation in their countries around the specific topic, they changed opinions and good practices of dealing with the problem.
Various workshops, seminars, presentations and discussions by the help of experienced Trainers, were held during the Training Course. The Trainers used Non Formal Education methods.
Finally we would like to thank the Vocational Training Institute of Glyfada Athens for its contribution to our effort for diffusion of the programme results by organizing an information event for its students.
During the Training Course, the participants took part in various cultural activities and they had the chance to have a tour in important sights of the Western Attica and the historical centre of Athens. They have visited Botanical Garden, the historical Monastery of Daphni in Chaidari, the historical church of Agia Varvara with the beautiful fresco of the famous painter Fotis Kontoglou and the Union of the Cretans of Agia Varvara. Finally they have visited Acropolis Museum, Parthenon, the Archaelogical Museum, Monastiraki and Thisio.
